Sound system hire for weddings across West Yorkshire
Weddings have three audio moments that matter: the ceremony, the speeches and the party. Each needs something different, and the same small speaker rarely does all three well. We put together a setup for your venue and running order so every vow, toast and first dance is heard without anyone having to think about it.
Choose full production and an engineer arrives early, sets up discreetly, mixes through the day and packs down quietly at the end. Prefer to run things yourself, or have a band or DJ bringing their own engineer? Dry hire the equipment on its own.
Weddings, part by part
The ceremony
Discreet microphones for the couple, celebrant and readings, with music for the entrance and exit, indoors or out.
The speeches
Wireless handheld and lapel microphones set up so every word reaches the back table without feedback.
The evening party
A PA sized for the dance floor, for your DJ, band or playlist, with monitors where performers need them.
Playback
A simple connection for a phone or laptop so your walk-in music, first dance and background playlist just work.
What we bring
Everything below scales to the venue and guest count, up to around 400 people.
- PA sized to the room and guest count
- Wireless handheld and lapel microphones
- Discreet ceremony setup, indoors or outdoors
- Music playback for entrances, first dance and background
- Engineer on site for speeches and the evening, or dry hire
- Setup before guests arrive and a quiet pack-down
Good to know before you enquire
- Tell us if the ceremony and reception are in different rooms or venues
- Let us know whether a band or DJ is bringing their own PA
- Outdoor ceremonies need power nearby or a battery-powered system
- Some venues have sound limiters; we plan around them
Engineer, or just the equipment?
Production means we set up, run and pack down. Dry hire means you take the gear and run it yourself. Both are available for weddings.
Weddings questions
The things people usually ask about this kind of event.
Do we need a microphone for the ceremony?
If you have more than about thirty guests, or the ceremony is outdoors, yes. Voices carry less than people expect and guests at the back will miss the vows. A discreet lapel or boundary microphone and a small speaker solves it without appearing in the photos.
Can you provide sound for an outdoor ceremony?
Yes. We use battery-powered or generator-fed systems where there is no mains nearby and weather-protect the equipment. Tell us about the location when you enquire so we can plan power and cabling.
Will the speeches work with a sound limiter at the venue?
Usually. Limiters cut the power when sound passes a set level. We set the system up to sit comfortably below it and place speakers so that speeches are clear without pushing the volume.
Can we plug in our own music for the evening?
Yes. We provide a simple connection for a phone or laptop so your playlist runs through the main PA, and we can manage the changeover to a band or DJ if you have one.
Do we need an engineer for the whole day?
Not always. Many couples book an engineer for the ceremony and speeches and leave a simple PA for the evening. If a band or DJ is bringing their own system, dry hire for the earlier parts may be all you need. We will suggest the option that fits.
